Oh goodness, what time is it? 8:00 A.M. Why can’t I sleep in like a quintessential musician? It feels like I just went to sleep! Better get up. Did I set up the coffee pot last night? God, I hope so. Oh shoot, I didn’t. That’ll take an extra few minutes and lord knows, I need coffee STAT. Oh, I love that sound and the smell of fresh coffee brewing. Pour the caffeine, mix in some honey and some half-n-half. I hope I didn’t make it too sweet. I can’t stand it when I make it too sweet. OK, jiggle the laptop awake, check email, delete retail messages, open Facebook, check in with the world. Hear the neighbor in his backyard coughing and sneezing. I wonder if I’ll have allergies today. I feel OK. Did I sleep enough? OK, so what’s this email from the Formula Expo team? OK, so I need to update the website. I go to http://www.formulaexpo.com and make the desired changes. Open photoshop, Dreamweaver, and my FTP software and make some adjustments to http://www.janereece.com. Dang, I haven’t blogged in a while and I could really use some new professional head shots. Man, I’ve had that dumb profile picture on Facebook for way too long. I’ll dig through photos. Well, I’m not crazy about any of them, so I’ll just leave it for now. What’s this email from LinkedIn, oh and this one from the Flamingo Cantina. Crap, I have GOT to finish booking the “Love. at the Cantina” shows for June. Back to Facebook, I’ve got to promote next Thursday’s Cantina show with Chad Pope and Clayton Colvin. I hope people come! Thinking about the Cantina, I better open Garageband and edit down the last five Cantina shows and upload them to http://www.patronism.com/gingerleigh, but editing takes so long. If only I had more time in the day. Oh, who’s texting me? It’s Jane Reece. We have to do some budgets, quickbooks, invoicing, emailing and scheduling client appointments, go shopping for clients today. Meeting at the W Condo to see what kind of rug we need to get and then off to the office to do admin later. OK, maybe I’ll do the garageband stuff this evening. Hold on, let me open the calendar. Can’t do it this evening. I have a meeting for the ACL Moody show on June 16th. Crap, did I call the rehearsal studio to set up the room for the next rehearsal with John Pointer, Guy Forsyth, Patrice Pike, Wendy Colonna, Nina Singh, Stewart Cochran and Jeff Botta? I think I did. I should probably email all of them right now to confirm the date and time. Did I send this ticket link to my fans? http://acl-live.com/calendar/2012/6/formula-expo-presents-band-of-the-year-2012 ? Oh, of course I did. Maybe I should send out another mailer about the show? Open iTunes and run the playlist of song we’re performing together. I have GOT to memorize those harmony parts. Who should go first that night? What’s the best opening song for the show? And what’s the finale? Maybe I’ll just ask the other artists for their opinions. Now what was I doing? Oh, gosh, I forgot, I need to create a Facebook event for my June 22nd show at Jax. And I need to check in with my drummer, Frank to make sure he’s playing that night. Did he ever respond about playing at Anderson Fair in Houston on June 29th? I need to check on that. Back to gmail now. Oh, thinking of Houston, I should call my friends there and tell them I’ll be emceeing the Band of the Year 2012 semi-finals at the House of Blues next week on June 6th. What’s this? A Facebook message from a fan in Lubbock who want to host a house concert for me on August 9th. That sounds good (and hot). I should probably reach out to my Tulsa people to see who might host me there that same weekend. Gosh, if I’m going to Tulsa, maybe I should check in with my people in Memphis to see if they want to do a show. But how long will I want to be on the road, I have so much to do here in Austin. I miss Italy. Maybe I’ll set up a group to go with me in September. Go to www.AA.com and look at flights. They’re still too expensive and I don’t like AA anyway. I’ll get back to that. I need to resize this logo in photoshop for the formulaexpo.com site. I forgot, my dad needs me to build his website out http://www.markfosterseward.com – I just have a splash page there. I have GOT to get that done for him. Go to godaddy.com and buy server space. I’m dying to get back in the studio to record new music. In the meantime, I’ll just open garageband and work on the songs I’ve been working on here. Oh, that reminds me! I need to record and produce the KGSR radio ad for next week’s Flamingo Cantina show. When was the last time I ate? Gosh, this coffee is too sweet and now a little cold. Go refill. It’s 8:05 A.M.
